Happy Anniversary to the couple that share the day with me Julie and Ryan! Married 6 years later on the same day as my husband and I but here in Western Washington. If I remember right it snowed that evening leaving the Renton Community Center where their reception was held. Despite how cold it was Julie never complained. Happily heading out doors with me for these amazing photos. Such a sweet couple. Thank you for sharing the day with me!

My wedding 9 years ago today

The sun is shining outside today, but man is it cold. With snow still on the ground it sure makes me think I wish I was in Hawaii today!
9 years ago today I was in Hawaii. Getting married to a wonderful man in front of a tropical waterfall. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm day. Which we were super excited about. It had poured the entire day before. Of course the only plan we had was pray for the rain to stop in time for the wedding. Dan (my husband) and my Dad headed out that morning to boogie board while we were at the salon. I instructed Dan before he left my list of expectations. 1) don't get sunburned (spf 30 on check!) 2) don't scratch up your face (for pictures of course) 3) don't loose a limb or end up in the hospital. Well 2 out of 3 isn't bad right? Poor Dan was lobster red and boiling in the tux I insisted he wore. Looking back I do feel a little bad (not much) about making the men wear tuxedos. We arrived at our tropical waterfall (which was very full thanks to the rain the night before) and got married. We then headed to Diamond Head beach park for sunset photos. It was a beautiful bright orange sunset with sailboats sprinkled across the horizon.

It was an amazing day and my photos are a cherished memory of our day. I love looking at them still to this day. I think, man that was so awesome! I also think, man I look young and my hair was so big that day, lol!
Thank you Dan for spending the last 9 years by my side in this amazing journey called marriage. Our journey has brought us so much joy, including 2 beautiful daughters. I look forward to a lifetime more of anniversaries to celebrate with you.

This was a very special day for Becca and I. This was the third and finally wedding with the Battles family. We first met this wonderful family in 2006 for the oldest daughters wedding. We just fell in love with the family. We were also blessed with the opportunity to photograph the second daughters wedding in Silverton, OR in 2009. Now Patti's wedding the youngest of the 3 daughters. It was a little bit bittersweet, the joy of working with this wonderful family and the knowledge that this was the last wedding with them. Being asked to photograph this wedding was one of the biggest compliments. I photographed Micki's daughter's wedding last year, when Micki got engaged I was one of the first call she made. Our trip to Cle Elum this September couldn't have been more fun! Becca, Tessa and myself started out early hoping we didn't hit to much traffic due to construction. To our pleasant surprise there wasn't any and we were more than an hour early. I suggested breakfast! I can always eat. We stopped at a cafe and had a great breakfast full of laughs...and when you have Tessa and me together, everyone hears our laughs. So glad I am not the only one with a loud laugh. To our great surprise, someone paid for our breakfast...so whoever you are THANK YOU! What an awesome way to start the day. We arrived at the Maras Home for the wedding and Jessica looked amazing! Here are our favorites from the day.

This beautiful wedding took place Sept. 20th, 2009 at the Green Lake Church and the reception followed at The Canal. I enjoyed this elegant, formal wedding. We of course had a little fun though!

This is my first try at this. Lexi and Ryan want to send out postcards as their wedding invitations. I thought it was a great idea and was happy to help design them as well as take photos of this wonderful family. Their daughter is one of the happiest babies I have ever met.
